A tiny house designed by Tumbleweed Tiny House Company
Lately I’ve been reading a lot of books and blogs about minimalism and living more simply. I love the idea of living simply, without a lot of things. I’ve become really interested in tiny houses, and even though we’re not ready to sell everything and live in 150 square feet (where would all my shoes and Nic’s Legos go?), I find the idea of a tiny house appealing. Nic and I decided if we weren’t ready to live in a tiny house, we could at least stay in one to see what it’s like, so we booked a stay at this tiny house in Portland through Airbnb. I’m really excited to experience a tiny house first hand, and I’m sure that living in the van for a few weeks will help the house seem luxurious and spacious. One of our hopes for this trip is to see just how little we can live with and downsize a bit once we return. We’re not expecting to sell everything and move into 150 square feet, but hopefully we’ll discover a few things we can live without.
